Your Needs Our Services

The Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) funds organisations to coordinate volunteers to visit recipients of Australian Government subsidised aged care services (residential and home care) who are socially isolated and whose quality of life would be improved by friendship and companionship.

Who can access the CVS?

The CVS is available to recipients of Australian Government subsidised residential aged care services or Home Care Packages who have been identified by their aged care provider as at risk of isolation or loneliness.

This video provides a description of the CVS and illustrates the value and benefits derived from the CVS from the point of view of funded organisations, volunteer visitors and the care recipients.

ACCS is funded to provide:

One on One visits to Home Care Packages (HCPs) consumers in the:

  • Western and
  • Southern Metropolitan Regions

and

Group visits at Residential Care in the:

  • Southern and Western Metropolitan and
  • Barwon South-Western Region.

 

Who can be a volunteer?

Volunteer can be any member of the community who speaks Croatian, enjoys helping others and who is interested in voluntary humanitarian work. Police checks are conducted on all volunteers to protect the safety of our clients. For more information on how you can become volunteer please click here.
