A Home Care Package is designed to give you choice and flexibility about the services you receive, and can be changed as your needs change over time.
A Home Care Package is a government funded, coordinated package of services tailored to meet the care needs of older people wishing to remain living at home for as long as possible.
The package can include basic services such as house-cleaning, gardening, or taking you to appointments, as well as higher support services such as nursing care and some home modifications.
Typical services available through a Home Care Package include:

The services available under a Home Care Package include (but not limited to):

  • House-cleaning
  • Personal care assistance
  • Food assistance and meal preparation
  • Transport and personal assistance with shopping and going to appointments
  • Respite care
  • Assistance with taking medications
  • Case Management and care advisory
  • Wellbeing and social support assistance
  • Social Support Groups at community venues
  • Gardening
  • Nursing care
  • Allied health
  • Home modification

Some of the services listed we do not offer directly, such as, gardening, but can be arranged through external agencies, and form part of your Home Care Package.

To receive a Home Care Package from the Australian Government, you or your representative will need to apply through My Aged Care, undergo a free in-home assessment by the Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS) and receive notification of approval for a specific level of care.
