ACCS is governed by a voluntary Committee of Management who perform an important role of providing oversight, accountability and community representation. Our board comprises of a broad range of backgrounds, interests and expertise to ensure the services are a well-managed and meet consumer expectations.

The Committee of Management must represent the interests and needs of our consumers as well as assist with strategic planning, policy development and business and legal processes.

ACCS welcomes expressions of interest from community members who have expertise in leadership, strategic planning, accounting, IT, marketing, public policy, community engagement and/or industry or sector experience. Please contact our CEO for a confidential conversation.


Jenny Matic – Chairperson

JennyJenny is a highly accomplished executive with extensive public sector experience, including health and aged care. She also has comprehensive aged care industry insights, as the former interim CEO, and Executive Director of Government Relations, Policy and Media with a national aged care peak body. Having a multicultural background herself, and having served as a Commissioner with the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC), Jenny is no stranger to representing, and being a champion for Victoria’s culturally and linguistically diverse communities. She has held numerous advisory committee positions including Chairperson of North West Metropolitan Regional Advisory Council (VMC), and has served in numerous Board positions for close to a decade on the Board of IPC (formerly ISIS Primary care). Jenny’s service on the Board of ACCS continues her advocacy and passion for accessible, inclusive and respectful community services.


Dr Miro Ljubicic – Deputy Chairperson

MiroMiro has a long and successful career in education and IT services. He has worked for government and tertiary education providers both here and oversees. Miro has a Masters in IT and a PhD in Business. He joined the ACCS board in 2013 and draws inspiration from helping others secure brighter futures through education and training.


Slavko Bilos - Treasurer

SteveSteve (Slavko) migrated to Australia when he was 22 years old and has always been involved in community groups and services including Australian Croatian Association, Melbourne Knights Football Club, Croatian Credit Union and Hajduk Soccer Club. Slavko worked in the finance sector for more than 40 years, and has received industry awards for his successful management of business services and staff. He is now retired and has been on the board of ACCS since 2015.


Franci Buljat – CEO and Company Secretary

FranciFranci is a Chief Executive Officer of Australian Croatian Community Services, and has been in this role since July 2010. Franci holds an overseas degree Bachelor of Languages Diploma of Teaching and an Australian (NAATI) qualification as an Interpreter and Translator and has had an extensive experience in teaching and media. Franci has been involved with Croatian community services since her arrival in Australia in 1992 and has a strong commitment to providing the community with access to services such as aged care and education. She also sits on Boards of Victorian Croatian Aged Care Services and the Victorian Croatian Chamber of Commerce.


Boris Jakovac - Member

BorisBoris has qualifications in accounting and business management, and a lengthy career with the Australian Taxation Office and other government departments. He is keenly involved in community radio and has been the convenor of the Croatian Radio Program at 3ZZZ for many years. Boris joined ACCS in 2015.


Lucy Ecija Fiamengo - Member

EcijaEcija migrated to Australia with her family in 1968, and got involved in the community activities from the day one. First she was involved with the parish as a choir member. She then worked as a Bookkeeper and Activity Organiser at the Croatian Catholic Centre in Sunshine for 16 years. Ecija also founded Croatian Senior Citizens Club Sunshine in mid 1970’s and has been actively involved in it ever since. Ecija has served on Croatian Catholic Welfare Association Board for over 15 years and is joined the ACCS Committee of Management in 2016.


Amanda Jakovac - Member

amandaAmanda is senior leader and consultant with over 15 years’ experience in both operational and strategic HR. Amanda has worked across a number of sectors including manufacturing, construction, hospitality, financial services and local government. Amanda is passionate about being a consultative and influential HR professional with specialist knowledge in the areas of employee relations, workplace investigations, project management and WorkCover. Amanda is proud of her Croatian heritage and of the opportunity to support this community as a COM member of the ACCS.                                                                                                                                                                               

Michael Pernar – Member

MichaelMichael has had a long and rich association with ACCS. He initially worked with the organisation between 1991 – 1995 in the early days of settlement and affiliated services and then joined the board in 2004. Michael is well-known in the community for his long-standing role as Manager/CEO of Laverton Community Integrated Services. Michael is an inaugural board member of the Bendigo Community Bank in Altona, Laverton and Point Cook, a board member of Adult Community Education (Victoria) and involved in many other community representation roles in Hobsons Bay.
